Interesting Look at the Cult of Mac

Interesting doc. It kind of came off like a movie about Star Trek fans which I guess was the point. Mac users are the new trekkies. I never realized the range of people who were Mac users and fans and the amount of fanaticism. Alot of the fans are a little too overzealous about Macintosh computers and I think very elitist. I can see why. It's an underdog position with Mac users still a minority in the world of computers. I wish the doc had spent more time speaking to pc users and their perspective on the Mac phenomena. I admit, I kind of wish I had been a Mac user when there were still these Mac communities.

I own an iMac20 from '06. Best purchase I ever made. When I finally got a little money, I wanted to buy a top of the line PC cuz that's all I ever knew. I was basically new to computers anyway and had only been using them since the late 90s plus my internet connections were always pretty slow because of my locations. As a musician, my friends leaned on me to get a Mac though it cost alot more than I intended to spend. After numerous demonstrations from friends and Apple stores, I gave in and got my Mac. It totally replaced most of my digital recording equipment. I've been able to create more music in the last 3 yrs on my Mac than the 6 yrs prior. There's no way I could ever fully go back to pc though I still maintain one for certain things like MicroSoft Word, PowerPoint emails that people send me and a little bit of gaming.

But you do recognize that in general, it is easier to create media out of your house that it was six years ago, this as nothing to do with Macs. What you are mentioning, is technological progress not Mac innovation.

For what its worth, this movie is terrible and presents Mac users as the typical nerd with herd mentality that relies on a group to get any sort of self worth. Just my two cents on this movie
