Who was that girl at the beggining who commits suicide? There's is any conecction to the plot?

I'm glad that you asked that question and sorry that you haven't had an earlier reply. I really don't think it has anything to do with the main plot, except to suggest that it may have been the inspiration behind Margherita, killing herself the same way, during Sonia's extended dream.🐭
