Grim

This movie shows what happens when the grim cycle of abuse is repeated through generations of a family. Admittedly I was a bit confuse in the middle as to what was going on. The description on the main page makes it seem like a regular horror movie, but I'd say it's more of a psychological thriller. At about 1 hour and 20 minutes it is worth watching to the end for a movie that isn't your typical Hollywood splatter fare. A dark, but fascinating film.

*Spoilers*

While I felt they could of add a few cheap scares (There was several times I was on the edge of my seat but nope no reflection in the mirror, or glass breaking) I do love that the supernatural element was her mind being twisted a cross between a dream and a horrid reality.

The one part that confused me was the rape, I guess it did happen or it could of been part of the dream. Was the child the product of that or did she sleep with the guy she murdered. It was kind of rushed, but over all a good movie if a little slow in some places, then tension was well done.

I suppose an argument could be made for the child belonging to either man. I like to think it was her friends, but it could just as easily be the other guy's if she was actually raped.

I don't think the girl had any sexual relations with the boy (whom she killed later). They spent a day together but it didn't look as if "anything happened". So the only possible source for the child would be the rape. That would make more sense considering what had happened to her mother. But we are not quite sure even the rape really happened, or that there was really a child.
