Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio for Assistant director

replacing Owen Granger Mary was just on Limitless as the head of the unit and she played a Grimm in Grimm strong tough and commanding. makes for a good replacement.

Like her, but don't know that she would be a good foil for Hetty. Hetty and Granger had a good relationship--began as adversaries and ended as friends. Why replace Granger? The Asst. Director doesn't have to be in the LA OSP. If he is replaced, maybe go with someone like Duggan--young, inexperienced, and ambitious (learned from books not field work). I could see Hetty taking him apart on a regular basis. lol

Under Secretary Duggan was assassinated snipper shot in S8.E13 Hot Water

Someone LIKE Duggan--younger and inexperienced but full of himself.

Capping the word like does not change the fact it could have been taken both ways as if he was referring to Duggan.

young and dumb do not make good commanders nor well the older veterans respect them inexperience could cost them their lives so there would be a complete lack of trust having a punk jump seniority and the true field hardened operatives. No I think I would stop watching if some dumb ass got the job because his daddy pulled strings to get them the job.

Elizabeth Mastrantonio comes in with a history of dangerous deep cover field work. a past with Granger and Lange fluent in mutable languages and accents.

Some one who has had to make the hard call knowing the odds of the operative making it out alive are slim and or have died under her command because the mission had to be done for the better of the many.

seriously I cheered when Duggan ate it he was an ass. had he or some one like him been placed in charge he would get fragged.

I agree it has to be someone with experience and stature. That's why I thought maybe Hetty could be promoted to that role, but someone like Elizabeth would be suited.

Agree--capping the word doesn't change that it could have been taken to actually mean Duggan (it wasn't me).

Maybe Mastrantonio would work, but IF they replace Granger, it would work better IMO with someone who has an adversarial role with Hetty like Granger did when he came on board (and Vance with Gibbs). There are so few women in command positions in the military, I think it would be a stretch to have the top two in this office be women--not that that's a bad thing.

Also, being young and dumb may not make someone a good commander, but Duggan was the boss of both Hetty and Granger--so it happens. Besides, although NCIS is under the Secretary of the Navy it's staffed by civilians, so there's no reason this office couldn't have a bureaucrat (time card puncher or paper pusher) "in charge." Personally, I think it would be good to have Hetty's superior be someone she's clearer the superior of in both experience and intelligence; it would make for some great scenes--and add some levity without deteriorating into silliness. Hetty has a sharp wit; I would like to see more of it.

When I said a past with Granger and Lange it could have been a bad past where Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio's way is to sacrifice chess pieces to achieve the mission maybe Lange was a sacrifice piece.

I just like strong women and hate the mens club mentality of old. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was one bad ass grimm and in Limitless she was commanding. there are other choices.

With limitless canceled and her character on Grimm killed off she is free to step in now.

who do you think is a good replacement that is believable?

How about Danny De Vito? He and Hetty would be eye-to-eye, literally. 

I'd like to see Deputy Director Craig come by for an episode or two and then the new Assistant Director shows up
