Underrated ?

This documentary is *beep* Underrated! The documentary was great, see it!
Good interviews with Sleep ect.

Yep, some great stuff in there. It doesn't flow well as it's spliced into chapters but everything within is great. Dead Meadow's live performance was great, as were the ones from OM, Comets On Fire, & Earthless.

There are a couple great deleted scenes as well (Wino talking about getting sober).

I thought it was a little overrated. it was ok, and of course it's cool to watch films about underground rock, but in the end it's just a concert film and a lot of talk in between.
a film I really enjoyed was truckfighters. lts of rock and intersting stories in between. but.. just my opinion

Truckfighters the band have a movie?

reply

Agreed. It was all over the place and kinda hard to follow. The lack of structure, like other musical documentaries, does makes it hard for people outside the stoner/dessert-scene to understand what the hell is going on and what its about.

As someone who loves the sub genre of Drone/Doom/Stoner and all that is associated with it, I must say it was a pretty good documentary. They should have cut down or truncated the live performances though. The first time I saw it I was pleasantly surprised to see them talk about the amazing Sleep album Dopesmoker. Made me appreciate the documentary much more. They could have focused on some bands more like Earth, Nerousis, Electric Wizard, and a few other bands that helped push the genres to new levels in the 90's

I just watched it on youtube, great doc, well told and produced, good, informative interviews, and I saw quite a few bands I knew nothing about that I liked.

OP: Nah, it's highly regarded. One of the finest Rock documentaries.
