did they pick the right actors for the roles?

When I was reading the list of castmembers, I noticed they have Marlon Wayans playing Ripcord... RIPCORD???!!!. Last time I checked Ripcord was white with firey red hair. Marlon Wayans looks more like Stalker... Stalker was left out of the movie...How could they leave him out? He served in Vietnam with Snake-Eyes and Stormshadow.

I think this question belongs on the movie forum.. this is actually the forum for the video game based on the movie.

And yes... it's very eff'd up that Marlon Wayans was cast as the red-headed irish kid. It's the new racism in hollywood. Take a normal white character and make them black. They did it with the Fantastic 4, Nick Fury, GI Joe, and many, many more. Imagine if they took Spawn and Blade and made them white.

Um . . . that's actually not what happened with Nick Fury, not because of Hollywood anyway.

Nick Fury was "rebooted" with the much of the rest of the MARVEL universe in their ULTIMATES series. The ULTIMATES Nick Fury was inspired by Samuel L. Jackson . . . who luckily was convinced to play the role he inspired in the live action films.
