Well someone hates forigners

What's with all the "England isn't ours any more" speeches and that completely irrelevant scene where all the English builders get sacked in favour of "non tax paying" immigrants and the bad guy giving his whole "this isn't your country any more" tirade.

If this was a film about racists then these type of lines would probably sit well but if your making (or attempting to make) a gangster movie then it's probably best to keep your "English for English" opinion out of it. Especially since you raise it so many times it almost becomes slightly racist.

I actually came back to check after I watched it to see if it had been adapted from a Richard Littlejohn Novel since although I've never read one the reviews they receive sound not too far off from this film.

Anyway doesn't matter too much since the movie was trash anyway, all those England for the English comments did was make me change my score from a 2 out of 10 to a 1.

This was a bad movie on so many levels my head spins.

I got News for you, that is exactly what is going on in many places and the British are getting fed up with it. The Film got that part right for sure from the bits I have seen of it. Irrelevant scene, I think not. It appeals to more than you think.

reply

Where the builders in anyway related to the Romanians or Russians?? No, so therefore the scene was irrelevant to the film just another excuse to prod a stick at immigrants.

I know who the film appeals to, readers of the Daily mail with their made up statistics and their unnamed (non-existent)sources such as yourself sir.

@StavrOs-06 Hey! more than happy to second that!

While you think its all about England for the English, you are clearly deluded and can't have really watched this film.

It shows how this country really is:

Low paid European Workers
People Trafficking
Sex Trade
Underground Fighting
Paedophiles

Any film that highlights what is going on in the real world, where people just refuse to believe it is happening, is alright in my book

Freight, also manages to be an Action film, with a gripping story, that is easy to watch. With some eye catching performances by an excellent cast.

But, each to their own.
You keep watching your Period drama's.

I also agree with this post and it deserves to be mentioned, as a matter of fact at a big established company I was working for whilst at University in Hull, England 12 of its national citizens (British) lost their jobs due to 12 polish coming in who could do the job for a quarter of what they were paying the lads, some who became friends. These guys were genuine characters, with family's. The worst of it is it is legal, and for some of the company's that employ this method illegally, nothing is ever done.

I am not racist, I have, Croatian, Lebanese, Turkish and Japanese friends I am just posting this because "IT IS HAPPENING" for those who have replied and say it isn't.

Although I dont agree that this was intended by the producer/director/writers etc, it's just the way Britain is now a days. They are only portraying reality.

@ Trunks78.

I 100% agree with everything you say, the whole movie made my skin crawl. Totally disgusted by it. Movies and TV shows like "Sex Traffic" have a much better statement to make than this xenophobic alarmist detritus.

reply

Bear in mind that the target audience for this type of film is thick young men who probably have racist tendancies.
