What Language

Are they speaking in this movie? Did the British invent some new one without telling the rest of us?

reply

Some of the dialect in the film annoys me, too. I'm from the UK but the way they say some sentences winds me up... Other than that, I enjoyed the film.

reply

I agree, the dialect was so bad I looked for the English subtitle file for my downloaded version.
I thought the movie had substance in the beginning but it managed to prove me wrong. Acting was terrible too.

reply

It's called Estuary English. If anybody was annoyed, that's what most working class kids in London speak like and it would be a bit silly to make them speak in differently.

reply

Are we that unused to hearing dialects that aren't American that we can't understand what they were saying.

Given how black gangstas sound in talk using an even more messed up incomprehensible slang that slur their speech in surprised imdb boards for films in those settings aren't filled with topics like this one yet no-one says anything but have a regional English accent and the world is confused.

I'm not just talking about the annoying chav speak in this film but something as easy to understand as a Yorkshire accent for instance.

It really confuses me how people can understand one gibbering mess but not a cleaner better enunciated accent is incomprehensible because it's in England and not America.

The kids were foul mouthed chavs but surely people could understand basic English words

reply

I can't stand black culture of the gangster rapper variety. Just a bunch of scumbags acting like apes. Affirmative action and the race card have led to them being a blight on the once great USA.
