What the hell kind of ending was that?

I was enjoying this movie, until that lazy and rushed ending. After everything that Adam tried to do to be with Eden, Timothy Spall just hands him a magical solution to solve all his problems? And Eden is somehow magically pregnant? The Transworld guys are no longer a threat? And they live in a huge house in the mountains?

It's like they cut out a huge part of the movie, skipped all the conflict and just went straight to the happy ending. The movie felt like it should have been atleast 30 minutes longer.

Hey son! Over here! I'm over here. At the banyan trees.

Yea. It did feel a bit rushed. Honestly, I thought it would make a great television series. Or a duology/trilogy at least.

^^ This!

I think it would've made a good limited series, or mini-series of sorts. As a movie, it would've been better suited to a longer runtime, for sure. I felt like Eden's story was particularly under-developed. She had an accident, and has amnesia, and Adam - who has presumably loved her and missed her all that time - just takes that info at face-value??
I wanted background info!

And then toward the end, while Eden is listening to her phone message she touches the flowers and passes out...then two minutes later she's at Bob's door? This movie was very light on explanation, which I found frustrating.

I agree the ending was implausible. Sweet, but did they really have to make Eden pregnant? It felt unnecessary to me.

Sweet, but did they really have to make Eden pregnant?

Maybe that was to make it slightly more realistic and not TOO sweet. Are two people who are drawn to each other like they are really going to spend that much time alone together and not have sex?

That scene with them under the cave where they spin around and around in embrace was symbolically supposed to show their sexual relationship, I think.

Agree. The sudden "mega-happy ending" was fairly unsatisfying. I mean, I like happy endings and all, but that was overkill.
Also, would've liked a bit of payoff with the "up-above" corporate stiffs at Transworld and also that boss. I wanted to see Timothy Spall, showing off the new zero-gravity potion and taunting the up-above guys because they can't get at it.

I think they could of done without the amnesia element. Just have her recognize him and have the two of them + Bob fighting the suits. Maybe even end it with them being kept apart.

Too much time wasted on "You're sure you don't remember me? I, uh, I mean I'm the new guy, nice to meet you."

Still a fun watch and better than I expected.

Elysium will probably be a better Us vs. Them flick.

Such an amazing idea and sadl6 quite a *beep* up execution. So many things didnt made good sense but they try to do a love story more than a sci fi flick. Bad decision and a medicore movie at best. And this is such a wasted idea... shame shame

Yeah, I agree. And it wasn't the only part of the movie that seemed rushed. Not sure if it's the writing or the editing.
