This was so close to being a great film. Main actor's overacting ruined

If they had cast pretty much anyone else as the main character, I think the movie would be in my list of favorites.

His over-acting and badly written parts just ruined it for me.

Going "upstiars", where his boss works and where he'd be pretty easily recognized just to act like an idiot for Eden? Pretty sure he's a "big deal", and many people would have known who he is.

Not planning at all with the hour limit before burning up... Again idiot.

Chasing after Eden, jumping security.... HUGE idiot. What is the end goal of that in his mind, with the cops chasing him and everything?

Going BACK to the cafe where he was national news for being a fugitive? Dumbass!

Out of 100 people it would have been super easy to spot that he didn't belong due to the over acting. The running around waiting for the elevator, the acting super shady in the security line.

He could have just called Eden at a lot of points, either hoping she was staying late or at her home. But no, he takes a huge risk for no reward.

Just... Frustrated with this movie. Everyone else did a great job on it except him and whoever wrote his dialogue/parts,

I don't see how any of those points is a reflection on the actor. Those are all issues with the script, not the acting.

I disagree with you completely. This movie felt like it was supposed to be a whimsical fantasy about love and these two worlds etc and I thought his parts and acting were fine.

Its not supposed to be so serious.

Worst narrator ive ever heard in my life. The movie could have been so much better but so many things were messed up. Watch the trailer and dont watch the movie. The trailer is a thousand times better than the movie.

reply

totally agree about the narration at the start. It gave the whole movie a cheap fairy tale feel to it.

not sure why they made him read the intro in that fashion.

He narrated alot of parts in the movie '21' and didnt sound so fantastical.

Upside down the world is not a logical place. Logical actions are part of the plot, not a performer's acting ability.

Adam constantly seemed like he was afraid of his own shadow, and especially afraid of talking to pretty women. Rom-coms are filled with bumbling nervous men like that, who somehow get the girl. I just wanted to slap him.
