People that did not like this are idiots.

This was great fun.

I am really disappointed in American audiences that they did not "get" it.

I suppose they expected a British Regency version of mindless movies like Zombieland so the fact that the humor was mostly clever dialogue was perceived as "boring" to American audiences.

I was skeptical too as P&P is one of my fav and I didn't understand how they would mix the genre but I really liked the movie. It was fun to watch.

I'm American and I loved it. As did pretty much all of the American Janeites I know who saw it.

I loved it too!

Wasn't this a box office bomb in England too? I felt it was really lacking any big battle scenes, and the sort of old style Victorian talk is hard to follow for most folks

reply

This bombed worse in the UK than in the US. Opened at number 6 in the US, opened at 10 in the UK.

And I was just thinking it would take an imbecile to like this "oh look how pretty I'm slaying" and "oh look how cool I'm in slow motion". Elizabeth is turned into a dimwit Kitty, Darsy is all kinds of not charming, and the only cool character is Mr Collins - that alone is unforgivable slaughter of original work to make entire movie insufferable

I'm am idiot for not liking, boring ass zombie film set during victorian times (yawn)? And on top of tht there isn't even any gore or nudity cause it's rated pg13

reply

It didn't take place during Victorian times. Just so you know.

The reason I disliked it was it was essentially a "Chick Flick" with a few zombies. I like hot chicks and cool monsters that can surprise me.

reply

Im sorry but it could have had some more zombies in it.

Specially when they could talk..
I dont mean that it needed more gore or anything but it definitely needed the zombies to play a bigger part.
Or have a bigger role. The movie did get a little boring and some of the drama dragged too long.
