Didn't work for me

Firstly, keeping the names of places and characters from the original was not the best choice in my opinion. It felt misplaced; fantastic; unrealistic. If the film was set in Bosnia and Yugoslavia, and characters with Slavic names, I think the essence of the story would've been better presented. I mean, the characters and the story are indeed very contemporary and realistic, but the way they were shown in the movie just seemed too far from a real scenario and a little too hard to take seriously (and this is a film that takes itself very seriously). Nowadays Rome is the capital of Italy, and that's it.

Secondly, Shakespearian dialogue didn't work very well either in my opinion. I don't think adapting Shakespeare to modern English necessarily means you will take away the wit and humour from his original work; a good adaptation might very well maintain the original content and only make a few updates on the form. It shouldn't be done to make the dialogue "easier" to non-initiated audiences, but especially to adequate the dialogue to the scenario presented in the film. I mean, Shakespeare's pompous and far-fetched dialogue is completely misplaced when delivered by a newsreader in television (as it happens during the film). That would've worked wonderfully in a comedy, but that's not the case here.

Anyway, I think the concept of the film is quite interesting but I would have executed it differently.
