Conseveratives who think this is a misrepresentation

If you think the "Wall Street", college-educated republicans were under-represented here, remember where the filmakers were. They were not in New York or Chicago. They were in Joeplumberland. And guess what? There are far many more of these nutbags than you would like to believe. You don't need liberals to point them out - the moderate Republicans that care about this representation of their party need to.

And let's look at the educated and well-spoken of this sampling. Oddly one of the most well spoken seems to honestly believe Obama is the AntiChrist. Anyhow, they want to move to Canada, and are 'scared to death' of the future. What is acutally funny is they are saying this with a straight face on the heels of 8 years of Bush. Guess what? Liberals are scared too. Because Obama has inherited a mess of galactic proportions. They thought everything was going just hunky-dory until election night? Please.

And BTW, what did you say when all those Hollywood stars said they'd move if (when) Bush won his second term. I bet you were ridiculing them, too. With a "go ahead and leave, then"! Yes, it was a dumb thing for them to say then, and its a dumb thing to say now.

I can really understand how you can feel that the filmmakers presented a fair amount of the embarassing of your bretheren, but as I said, there are more of these folks than you'd like to admit. But honestly, when I was listening to them, I wasn't thinking party at that time. I was feeling shame and embarrassment for all of us.

So, too bad. Tough. Suck it up and do something to help.

Or laugh. Some of it was really funny. The reaction of the woman to a couple of Obama signs in her neighborhood. It was like she just learned the Ebola virus was let loose next door. "That lesbian couple put out an Obama sign", or whatever she says, with a look of shock on her face. Priceless.

If you think that focusing almost entirely on the Christian right is a "fair" representation of conservatives then I would question your rationality. The Christian right are a vocal minority similar to the left's PETA, Sierra Club and other Socialist groups. The Christian right makes up a small percentage of those that consider themselves Conservative (most estimates are 15% to 20%) the other 80+% of Conservatives are your normal everyday Americans. According to a recent Gallup poll, 42% of Americans identify themselves as Conservatives with only 21% identifying themselves as Liberals. This movie is clearly not a fair representation of nearly half the population of the US.

The goal of this film was to portray a marginalized, vocal minority as the mainstream "Right" and in doing so, attempts to discredit Conservatism by cherry picking bible beaters and uneducated rednecks and implicitly telling the viewer, "This is mainstream conservative thinking, aren't they all a nutty bunch!" This is pure red meat for the ignorant liberal.

But why be fair? Fair makes for a boring documentary. The rational thinkers among us know this is a liberal hit piece plain and simple.
