A nice little film that got no recognition

This is definitely one of the best films to come out in the fall. Its told in a loving way with close attention to period detail. But you'd never know that because its playing in one theater in your city- if you're lucky. The sad thing about good movies these days is that you have to scrounge to find them. This one was worth the search.

I totally agree! I just recently discovered this movie. A real gem! I'm a huge fan of British films, but I hadn't heard about this one. One of my absolute favorite actors, the gorgeous Rupert Graves, is in it as one of the Ford management team, Peter Hopkins. I'm trying to see as many of his movies as I can, which is why I had to stop and watch. I got totally caught up in it!

It was sweet and funny and touching, looked very realistic for the period, and had a great soundtrack. I loved the story and the spunk of the women. I'm lucky in that my formative years were after women's lib, but it really struck home that things were quite different even 40 years ago, and how fortunate I am to be in a workplace where women are, for the most part, treated equally.

I loved Rita's character, and really appreciated the pressure and struggles she went through. Plus, it was also nice to see both the beautiful Rupert, and a stunning Rosamund Pike as his wife. Their roles were small, but I liked their storyline.
