Bob Hopkins And Richard Schiff!

I like this guys! Does anyone know which role Schiff will play? Hopkins are credit as Alfred...sound like a guy that working at the factory

reply

He plays a big shot from Ford in the US, who's aim is to stifle the Dagenhams womens pay demands, with threats to the trade unions and the UK goverment.

reply

It's Bob Hoskins, not Hopkins.

Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

Richard Schiff is one of the few good thing in this movie and porbably the only character which is not played as a caricature. Shame there's just very little of him in the film.
Bob Hoskins is good with the very little material he's given, but he's been let down by a terrible script.
Are we really suppose to believe that that type of person can quote Carl Marx? Ridicolous.
Not a bad film, but such a great story deversed so much more!!

Any chances for nominations for Schiff and Hoskins?? What do you think?

reply

not a chance in hell I am afraid... (maybe just for a BAFTA because Hoskins is British) maybe one day...

reply

Moviegeek, it's hard to take you seriously with so many spelling mistakes. For one, it's Karl Marx, not Carl! And, yes, it's very easy to believe that "that type of person" – a union organizer, for god's sake – could quote KARL Marx!

reply

Fair enough backofthevan, sorry about the spelling mistakes (writing on the iPhone is not the easiest thing, believe me). Having said that, I still believe the film is quite average, the acting a it hammy in places and the characters not as believeable as they should be.
You can check my review on my blog if you're interested in seeing more about it. (moviegeekblog.wordpress.com)

Give the guy a break. It doesn't take a graduate degree from Stanford to write movie reviews.

reply

I never give anyone a break who toots his own horn ( "read my review.") and can't get Bob Hoskins' name
right.

reply

I'm with you Kartoff (only just seen the film) That people think working class people are ignorant is an awful insult. When they can't even spell Karl shows who the ignorant really are.
Btw I would never normally pull someone on spelling or grammar but in this context?
