Barbara Castle

From a socialist point of view, Barbara came accross well in this movie. And from my learnings deservedly so. I know Harold Wilson drifted to the right during his time, but it must have been so hard ruling a fundamentally tory country in these times.
So I forgive you Harold, and at least you had the balls to put Tony Benn in your government (strange how Mr Blair didn't)
I guess they'll never be a real Labour government in my time, but that's got more to do with the electorate than anyone else.

You really ought to twist your thinking and wonder why Saint Wedgwood Benn deigned to be a member of a Government that supported the UK nuclear deterrent and the US in Vietnam.

If Britain is tory, why is there such a fascist electoral system? As for Comrade Benn, I'm waiting for him to disown that war criminal Hilary.

Oh and if Castle was a leftie, why did she front In Place of Strife, the beginning of Thatchlerism?
