Reason to think Jessi

spoilers below:

Actually in watching the movie, there was a key point or reason to think Jessi wasn't exactly Jessi.

Robert played his 18-year old self and 18-year old Jessi liked him. When Robert confessed to Jessi he was actually 46, sure there were fireworks and bad feelings.

But...

When Jessi wanted to get back with the 46-year old Robert, I knew something was up. It now all makes sense why the 46-year old mother of Jessi WOULD still be interested in the 46-year old Robert.

I just watched the movie and I thought the same thing exactly, but with all the photos and a video a part of me was still believing it was really Jessi. I would have never believed it her own mother though. It is sickening that she was able to come clean from all of this.

I'm too lazy to go back, re-watch and notate the timeline, but it seemed as if the period that Sheiler, knew the true identity of Montgomery dragged on a lot longer than when they were both fooling each other. Perhaps I'm just naive but it just seemed bizarre that this 18yr old would continue to be interested in him.

I get that maybe she was interested in the attention. But honestly I don't think a real 18-year-old would continue if she knew his real age. I would think she'd be disgusted because he's yknow "old" as her parents. So no I think she would've cut it off then and there. This too was a red flag for me.

Y'all are missing the point

YOU would not be fooled, but Montgomery WANTED to believe an 18yr old girl would still want him
