Anyone notice how they made the mom mean, she was never mean in the show.

Seems like a plot device.

She can be mean at the show sometimes. Like in the episode "Baby Cupid." Also in the "Maximan" episode.

Yeah, she's very strict, and a little mean, only when it comes to magic. It's been said that she "hates" magic all together. Really I find this an interesting aspect of her character, and would love if the show explained exactly why she does before the series' end.

Yeah shes strict, but in the movie I got the sense she had a grudge with Alex almost.

Like she personally hated her. And I never got that vibe in the show.

I didn't get the 'hate' vibe. It was clear to me from the beginning that Alex had been pushing it with using magic when she wasn't supposed to and going behind her parents' backs and Theresa was close to her breaking point

Well it wasn't just what we saw from the beginning of the movie. She could have been like that for weeks, and that was just the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae.

The mom was strict in this movie because Alex is a little snot who thinks she can do and say what she wants, when she wants. I like the show and Selena Gomez, but I always sit there and think that Alex needs a punch. She is the mean one. I think if any of us had a daughter like her, we would get pretty angry too. (Once again I like the show, Selena Gomez, and even Alex. Im just defending the the mother's right to discipline a bratty child.)
