Rip of from The Warrior King

I thought this movie was a total rip-off from the Warrior King with Tony Jaa. Iko Uwais is no Tony Jaa that's for sure. Where were all the crazy stunts?! Also, the ending where he's breaking people's arms and so on was a blatant rip off from the final fight in The Warrior King.

It was alright, and a few years ago before Tony Jaa, it would have been amazing, but now it's just alright.

I'm confused, are you claiming the Warrior King is in some original?

yes, definitely the OP hasn't seen a lot of martial art movies. The storyline like Warrior King and Merantau has been there for ages. I have seen the same theme since more than 30 years ago, both from HK old movies and Indonesian 1970s exploitation movies. And "Merantau" (as the activity, not the movie title) is a real tradition still exists up to now.

Merantu is a rip off of Tony ("Where are my elephants?") Jaa chasing elephants in Australia? I think the op needs a nice hot cuppa and a good lie down. He's clearly been over-excited and needs time to recover and freshen up.

I think you may be replying to the wrong poster. I don't think it is either. Have a closer look at my post.

I have to agree. It was clearly an homage to jaa and ong bak/Tom yum goong. Of course it's been done in previous movies, but I definitely got that vibe from this movie too.

This is almost a direct mash up of the two...
