i noticed one of the modified biker gang shot purple lasers from their blaster. is there a difference between the different color lasers in the star wars universe? are some stronger or weaker than others?

I imagine green and red lasers are the most powerful, as that is what the Galactic Empire used for their starfighters and stormtroopers respectively. No idea what purple would be on the scale, but I'm guessing it would also be right up there, and is certainly not very common.

The color is related to the crystal used to focus the energy. I don't think there is any other significance to it.

Red = Cheap bolts. Common. Poor mans ammo from Bespin.

Green = Highest quality grade gas. More powerful than Red. Rich people's ammo.

Blue = Ioned bolts used well against droids and machinery to disable or possibly fry.

Cyan/Orange = Low powered bolts used for training.

Yellow = Variant for Mandos. Unknown power and quality. I am guessing on par with Green considering they use Beskar Steel for armor.

Purple = Variant from Geonosis. Unknown power and quality. Maybe on par with Green or slight under or over.
