is this movie that bad? please tell me why is it so bad that i should not waste my time and money on it.

I'm only guessing, but it could be that it is Pro-Palestinian. Since we in the USA aren't or at least most aren't that could be one reason why. I honestly wouldn't and never listen to reviews and make up my own mind. I think it is time that the story be told from a Palestinian perspective. You should go see it. I am planning on seeing it if it ever makes it to the states, but they keep pushing the release date back so who knows it may never premier here.

Have you seen it yet? Does it take a stance? I wasn't aware that it was really being political or not, I assumed it would just be about the orphanage.

It is about a Palestinian orphanage and then main character is Palestinian that is enough for it to be pro Palestinian in most Americans eyes. Apparently you did not read my post clearly I said I can't wait to see it.

It sounds boring, but then I read it's a true story. Most true stories aren't boring. Maybe it's the way the synopsis is written.

Schnabel only made 3 films and 2 of them were quite good with Diving Bell landing him an Oscar nod. I guess that's enough reason for me to watch it when it becomes available here.

Why the hell do you give a crap about IMDB-scores? This movie is a perfect example of the faultiness of letting people anonymously vote a movie up or down: They'll in 99 out of 100 cases vote subjectively and not objectively. And I know you could argue that taste in movies is always subjective, I agree, but sometimes personal beliefs will bias those opinions. In other words: A pro-palestinian movie about a *beep* being faultily accused of being a terrorist? Not so hot to the majority of westerners post-9/11.

(If it makes a difference: I loved the movie)

It's good if you like to know some of the atrocities that were perpetrated in Israel against native people , the Palestinians. It might not be that good if you're a sionist.
