I expect our Jewish brethren take exception to the portrayal of Palestinians in (gasp) Palestine (gonna delete this one too, IMDb?)

I'm not Arab, Jew or American. I'm just someone who watched the movie and didn't like it as a 8 or 7 rated movie.
Yes I agree this should've gotten much higher rating more closer to a 7, but to be honest I didn't like it at some points.
I haven't read the book but more often we see unsuccessful movies which were great as a long novel. to shorten the whole story and make a movie out of it, well, you have to cut many facts and clues.
I'm not just talking about those video clips from jubilation of Jews or the war after, I'm talking about all unnecessary scenarios and fast forwarding the story at some points as well.
those damaged the whole experience of watching this movie. again I tell you this as a neutral viewer. but yeah most people being so harsh and given a 1 as you said.
If the same tragedy had happened to Americans like Palestinians then , they would have made it a human rights issue. Forget about rating, it would have no less than 8
:)
Kudos to Americans
Ariana, I'm inclined to agree with your take. I gave this a 6 but I contemplated giving it a 5. In addition to the jumbled narrative and underdeveloped characters, I was a little underwhelmed by Pinto's acting at points. But I think it's clear some people are rating it entirely from a political perspective. Many, I suspect, haven't seen it but have heard it portrayed as "anti-Israel."
shareMichelle Bachmann won the Iowa straw poll, US votes are not exactly the best place to go to for determining a film's worth.
