Based on the trailer of "The Cold Light of Day" it seems identical. "Target" is about a young man who goes to another country with his parents and his mom gets kidnaped. He discovers that his father used to be in the CIA and they team up to get the mother back. Oh, and there's another woman, like the Sigourney Weaver character in the trailer, who is also from the father's past and is out to get him over something. Hmmm.
shareI just came across this movie in the available listings of movies to rent, and saw that I had already tagged it. I don't remember seeing this particular movie though. I *did* however, see the movie Target (1985) with Matt Dillon and Gene Hackman and thoroughly enjoyed that movie. Of course, I saw Target in the theater when it was initially released, and the era that that movie released into fit very well to follow the storyline. I don't know what this movie does, but I think the circumstances in the world now are changed enough that it would be highly contrived in the storyline just to form a similar plot.
