Who has seen Emma Approved?

An youtube channel is making modern day adaptions of Jane Austen's work. First was the Lizzie Bennet Diaries (which I thought was amazing!) now there is Emma Approved.
I was wondering if you guys have seen them and what you think of them? They are 4-6 minute videos that come out every Monday and Thursday.
I think the Emma Approved one is even better then the Lizzie B Diaries because the other characters are more involved with the story, in LBD a lot of the story was told by role playing and hearsay.
I just really want people to know this is out there and find out what they think of it! The message board for both shows is dead on IMDB.

This is the link to the Pemberly digital channel on Youtube for both shows.

I have seen it and I loved it! I'm not sure yet whether I like it better than LBD, but I do know that Mondays and Thursdays couldn't come soon enough! Especially this last Thursday's episode, I must have rewatched it 6 times by now ;)

I would love to hear your thoughts about it :)

6 times, wow I'm not going to tell you how many times I have seen this, it will make cat ladies seem sane. :p
I think these actors are perfect for the parts, I haven't seen them in anything else but I am going to be looking. The way Joanna's facial muscles change just enough when Brent tells her there is someone in the office that he cares about so much.
For me though Brent was the star this episode in subtlety, there were just too many ways to list but my favorite were:
How he just lit up when he found out that she didst love Frank
When Emma comes in to his office and he realizes they were on different pages, the hope in his face again and urgency in his voice when he tells her to stay there.
When he is reassuring Emma that they wont screw it up, his voice trembles on the "you know me" line
Then how he goes from still unsure, or unable to believe that it is turning out this way when he asks how the kiss was, to the lit up look again before he kisses her this time.
I love the role reversal- how Emma just sits there. The whole series she is the talkative one, the one moving forward and taking everyone with her, willingly or not, and her all she can do is sit stunned while Alex does all the talking.
My favorite Emma moments of this episode were her lunging hug and kiss maneuvers :D
One of the best things about this version of Emma is, Emma. In some versions I actually hated her, the 2009 is my favorite followed by the 1971 for showing the good and bad of Emma equally.
This version tops them all, she grows soooo much and in a completely believable way, through learning from her mistakes, slowly and awkwardly.
I better stop and get back to work, I didn't mean to write an essay but I have been watching this for what, 7 or 8 months now and I don't have anyone to talk about it with!
Thanks for replying.

I've seen the first 10 - 15 episodes, but then lost track. I do plan to pick up where I left off.

As an aside, over at Pemberley.com's Austenuations board there are a whole lot of people talking about it.

I also think Joanna and Brent were absolutely perfect for their parts, their chemistry was just spot-on! It probably helped that they are together in real life ;)
This adaptation is now also one of my favourites, the one from 2009 being my absolute favourite ;) I just didn't quite feel it with the 1996 adaptations. I don't know, something about Gwyneth Paltrow bugs me.

There are some things that I did not really like, feel free to (dis)agree ;)
- the actress who played Harriet. Not that I have something against her, but she was just... not so good. She was so overly expressive with her face, it really annoyed me at times.
- the amount of time they spent on certain parts of the story. I can't see why they spent so much time on the Izzy-John marriage problems and so (relatively) little on the actual love confession at the end. I'd much rather have seen that part extended.

Feel free to share some more thoughts on EA! :) I don't mind the essays ;)

Have you seen the engagement ring commercial (for Zales -- a US jewelry chain) that they're in? I grin every time I see it.

I tried a couple of eps of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, but gave up quickly. It just wasn't for me, although I couple of my friends are super addicted to these web series.

Did you know that they all have their own message boards here on IMDb? Even Nothing Much to Do is listed.

I liked Lizzie Bennet Diaries. I didn't watch all the episodes though, mostly the ones with Darcy in them.

I gave Emma Approved a try, but I really didn't like it. I think video blogging can be used for story-telling, but when the whole video-calling/Domino thing was added to the mix, it just did not work for me at all. It's my least favourite Emma adaptation and that's really saying something, because I really dislike the Kate Beckinsale one.

While I think Joanna and Brent had amazing chemistry, I think the writers misunderstood the original characters - particularly Emma - and overall it was a very poor modernisation of the novel with very little literary understanding behind it. However, it does has "watchability," and was a lot of fun if you took it as is. As far as modernisations of Emma go, I would take Clueless over Emma Approved any day though.
