Totally underrated Jane Austen novel

Truthfully I've seen quite a few versions of Pride and Prejudice, from closely adapted to fantastical and my favorite after seeing at least 6 versions has been Lost in Austen. I'm probably only 1/8 of the way through the book and I just can't get through it. I think that one is highly OVERrated. Lost in Austen being the exception as it is hilarious, I've seen that one now at least 3 times.

I've seen Sense and Sensibility (the movie with Kate Winslet) I believe twice if not thrice. I've seen another adaption too somewhere, somehow. It's not a story I'm really a fan of.

I've seen Mansfield Park (the movie with Ryan Philippe?)
Snooze...

I believe I've seen the Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma... I can't remember, if I had, I thought it was boring and nonsensical. I need to see it (again?) just to be sure.
However, and this is the point that I eventually got to, this version, this mini-series of Emma has made me reconsider Jane Austen as a whole. I had never REALLY been a fan of her franchise but after watching this version, I laughed, I'd awed, I'd gotten annoyed and frustrated and wanted to strangle some characters. (Never Emma, however, oddly). I thought Emma endearing and adorable for most of the film and the parts where she had to be less than stellar were so believable (for time, place and age)! I think this is Jane Austen's true jewel in the franchise, not Pride and Prejudice. This one is like a footnote in Austen's life and I think it should be the dissertation. Emma is highly UNDERrated in my opinion! (At least this adaptation). It makes me want to read the book. It was very Shakespearean in my opinion, it reminded me of "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

It's funny though, because Jane Austen's become a Franchise/Corporation whereas Shakespeare is very small in many ways in comparison.
