I doubt this girl weighs 100 lb soaking wet, but they show her landing hard punches in a boxing ring and overpowering male mercenaries in hand-to-hand combat. The scene where she kills a man by pinning him to the ground was truly laughable. And I doubt anyone with such a lack of musculature could be a good athlete, much less the superhuman specimen depicted here. Ridiculous movie.

In the old games she could jump across 10 meter gaps and launch herself more than 3m straight in the air. Her athletic ability is least of the problems with this movie because I don't think it should be very realistic, though I'd still prefer Lara sticking to her two handguns and shooting the baddies up instead of fighting them hand to hand.

If however she is being hit a lot or doing things that clearly require a certain level of strength advantage...same as with a small male it begins to break the suspension of disbelief.
I have no problem with it in general but wonder why a woman the size and weight of Alicia Vikander (whom I loved in Ex Machinima and other films) is acceptable doing these things because of the reasons stated by TexasJack yet when a male is the lead he is never played by Michael Cerra or Jessie Eisenberg.

My point is that when casting a role where the audience is to believe that character "can do those things" the male characters are played by guys that you can believe can do those things.
In the movie you have shown here, Jessie is a sleeper assassin. You would not cast an actionstar for this role as the idea is that you should not look at the character and think "Oh, he can kick my ass"
In a way you proved my point by showing that in order to have a Jessie Eisenberg play that action hero role there must be an outside reason why he can do those things. In Tomb Raider we are to believe that Alicia Vikander can beat up trained soldiers because....?

Yet you want to excuse the male version, and not the female.
What I find most interesting in these interminable complaints, on EVERY such movie thread in history, is that the loudest complainants are those who know the least about fighting. Or human biology. Or fictional consistency/world-building.

Rest assured: the laws of physics/realism are in NO WAY more abused by Vikander's feats, than by those of the males in this (or any other) similar movie. Or by the anthro representations. Well you have to expect a certain level of exaggeration, it is an action movie. However they should probably be more conscious about that, as it can take you out of the moment when its stretched too far.
