Has the show help you make connections? Mine is Tim McGraw.

I Have been doing my genealogy since 1990. My Uncles were on the search of who owned a oil well in spindletop, TX in 1983. The Kings (my maternal grandfather side) and the Meadows (my Husbands paternal grandfathers side) set out to prove our families were the true heirs to this fortune. In the end no we were not the heirs just distant cousins but no claim on either side. So much for the get rich beverly hillbillies from the backwoods of Kentucky, although this is what World News wrote about us in their paper. HaHa
So my family had all this information with tree's, charts and documents and in the 90s with my uncles blessing i took everything he had and started adding. First it was just short and sweet going straight back far has i could. With the help of working at a college saving, scanning and printing anything and everything i could find was pretty easy. So over the years with boxes, Cds and a database full of information going from grandparent to grandparent wasn't enough. I started looking into the family of cousins and making unending connections. The Family tree with over 12000 Names is still growing.
Onto the show and my connection: In 2011 Tim McGraw was featured and as i was sitting there and the names of Chrisman and Hite came up. I heard these names and i knew i have read about them. Of course right away i started looking at my tree there is was my 7th Great grandfather Jacob Chrisman and his wife Magdalena Hite. I only had my direct Ancestor Jacob and Magdalena son Abraham Chrisman in my tree. I didn't just want to say hey I am related to Tim Mcgraw i wanted to prove it. Adding over 200 names searching and connecting dots, my 6th great grandfather Abraham and Tim's 6th great grandfather Issac Chrisman are brothers. Which makes Samuel Timothy McGraw though his paternal great grandmother Ella May (Nave) McGraw and me Kirby (Bunch) Johnson though my maternal Grandmother Elizabeth (Taylor) King 8th Cousin's. Yea I know what you are thinking 8th cousins that is a big gap and yes he doesn't know who I am or might not even consider us cousins. I am just thrilled that this show has help me make more connections. AND OF COURSE COME ON PEOPLE ITS TIM MCGRAW HOW COOL IS THAT!!! 🙌

While working on my own genealogy not long after the Tim McGraw episode, I discovered his ancestor, Jost Hite, and mine knew each other. They were both early settlers in the same area of Virginia, it was an account of a legal matter they and they some other settlers were involved in. Took me moment to recall why his name seemed familiar.

You can tell a lot about a person from reading his biography.
