I'm an adult, I watch this, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! :p

There was a repeat of this on channel 10 (Australia) the other day, and I watched it. I know it's supposed to be for children, but I don't even care! :p

Jonathan Shiff made another children's tv series I watched once too called Wicked Science. Other than Degrassi (which I watch because I used to watch the original as a child, and watching the new one makes me feel nostalgic), these are the only children's shows I've liked. I felt embarassed to like Wicked Science, but now that I like this one too, I don't even feel embarassed - so there, convention! :P

Are there any other adults on this board who like this show too?

Yup, just enjoyed the 1st season again. :) Haven't seen any of the 2nd season episodes yet.
I preferred Shiff's "H2O: Just Add Water" by a whisker, but only the first season. (After that, the whole dating guys who were totally totally ignoring their wishes/requests bit got a tad too icky/annoying. That's, like, on top of Don Sertori's father-from-the-fifties shtick.)

Just discovered it yesterday. Put it in my Netflix queue for my four year old daughter and have been watching it with her and the rest of my family since then. It's fun.

I was surprised at how entertaining this was. The first season I really enjoyed. It did have its problems, mainly inconsistencies. but, it had heart, and a usually interesting plot-Especially toward the end. Also, the acting for most actors was much better than I expected--

The second season I found lame, though. Boring overall plot. The princess and Kuru rarely have on-screen time together; and their dynamic kinda made the show. I am not saying they had to develop a romance (though that was an interesting subplot); they just needed scenes together.

The writers 86ed her father, her adoptive family, her cousin, the funny moments, I think 2 years or so their lives, the idea of her becoming queen, improving her magic skills, the box of magic tiles, Anala as a character instead of merely transportation, much of the palatial aspects of the story, the nobles (it seemed like Kuru was the acting ruler at the beginning)...yeah..so lots of things that made the show fun and interesting. I was especially bummed by Anala's demotion in the show. The Anala episode (toothbrush one) in the first season was one of the best episodes.

the music was much better in the 2nd season, though. It was generic; but the first season had songs that were ear-wrenching. And, the new drummer was cool, too.

I completely agree with this entire post... although I'm only a few episodes into season 2. I'm having trouble continuing. I just find it so painful. The first season was cute and I couldn't help but enjoy it... but season 2... I almost need someone to force me to watch it.

Or force you Not to watch it. ;)

You're not alone! Im 21 (and male) and I've loved all the shows JMS has produced like Thunderstone, Cyber Girl, Ocean Girl and H2O. I just wish they were all accessible on DVD.
