Good authority that it's awful!

Can't say by who, but I've been reliably informed that this is as bad as everyone assumed it would be. This is a genre that has so much potential and this is the best they can come up with. Bad show....

reply

So, let me get this right, you heard from a friend who heard from a friend that it was awful.....on January 5th 2012 when the first viewing was this week (June 12th 2012)? Shame on you!

Sorry to upset your rant mate but I saw it on Tuesday night and it was pretty good....not a Hollywood blockbuster I grant you but very good for the budget it was done on. Probably best to save comments like that 'til you have actually seen the film and stop being so bitchy & negative!

Peace!

reply

Ha ha! It was an early screening cut, and my friend was involved in the film, so not just hearsay. I actually gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking a lot can be done from an early screening to one a few months later (where I saw it myself, with my own two eyes), but I was bored, to honest. I didn't want to be, but it's what I expected, trivial and rushed. Soz pal....

reply

I know exactly what screenings we had and who was at them, and 12th June was the first public press screening, the only other screenings we had was one for execs, and one for cast and crew. I don't mind if you don't like it, but I'm not convinced you saw it - we didn't have any "early screenings" apart from for about 3 people. So who's your friend?

It's cool...Jonnyjogles-965-786728 is attached to the E gad Zombies thing that never took off - so it's just a case of sour grapes.

We know who you are Jonnyjogles ;)

Agreed.
In my opinion it was damned funny. Full of irony and black humour which ensures it will not appeal 'worldwide'.
I saw it and thought it was hysterical.
I loved the line: Oi! Get out of my East End!

reply

I thought it was hilarious too, particularly Eric who had his own cockney rhyming slang, and Richard Briers with his zimmer frame being chased by a zombie was a scream. If shown worldwide the cockney would have to be subtitled. Great film.

reply

Priceless! so true. And Briers, the innocent--falling asleep with zombies all around him and staying asleep! so funny.
true. a gem of a film.
Yup, subtitled probably!

reply

Your friend must have bad taste then. And not in the good way.

I just want my kids back.

reply

Uh oh! You've had it now. The writer James Moran is on your case!

reply

James Moran told me it was awful. He's the mole.

Judging by the trailer the thread starter was just trolling. The film looks good.

reply

Well Jonnyjogles-965-786728, why don't you see it for yourself before judging on alleged hearsay, or can you not think for yourself?

Saw it at Frightfest on August 23rd - its good!

reply

I missed it at Frightfest, but I saw it today. I like the way they took some time to develop the characters early in the film - before throwing zombies at them.

As the film got going I laughed a lot:)

reply

It would appear that someone who actually has seen the film disagrees with you. Back to your troll cave liar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=72ZRuq1umCM

reply

Hmmmm. A second hand source, cited by a stranger, says it's bad... and yet Empire tells me it's good? Sorry mate, no offence, but I think I'm gonna have to go with Empire!

Some of it is really crude but some of it is uproariously funny.

That bit with the zimmer frame has a extra poignancy now Richard Briers is no longer with us.

reply

I saw it there too, I thought it was bloody marvellous! Couldn't stop laughing

Quick, little buddy! Whip me! Whip me!
