They recast the youngest one.

The new kid looks different from the rest. THe other one looked like he belonged.

From the pilot, they recast the little kid Robbie and the oldest brother Brandon

I thought they recasted the older two. I saw the original pilot and thought the oldest kid was just a filler.

Yeah the oldest kid in the pilot was the big kid...they still kept the same middle kid who is the ringleader I guess you can say.

I gotta say it. Your signature is pretty awesome (and true). :)

How did you notice the youngest and not notice the oldest one

The original oldest/tallest kid was fat and just acted like an oaf and they even made a fat joke about him in the pilot, he was basically just a filler like someone else already said

now he is much thinner/shorter and has had tons more face time

both replacements were a good move just should have been done before the pilot, its annoying when they change major characters in the first few episodes like nobody will notice

And the new Brandon kind of remembers me kind of another Justin Berfield. Plus, he looks better then that the other guy. Plus, this Brandon looks like he would be into vampires and stuff--he kind of has that look.

When did the pilot air? Where can i watch it on the net? I saw the first episode, and it wasn't with the fat kid, though i did see a promo on youtube that had the exact same scenes with the other kids, i didn't know it actually aired. That probably didn't help the situation if they aired the exact same episode with different kids.

the original pilot never aired.. pilots are primarily made for network execs to evaluate whether they want to green-light a show, decide what changes need to be made (if any), etc, so dvd copies usually get passed around among the network, focus groups, talent agents, etc, that way - and that's probably how the original pilot with the original actors has made it's way around, but it never made it to t.v..
it's not uncommon for cast changes to take place after the pilot - sometimes certain actors don't 'test' well with preview audiences, or sometimes certain characters just seem redundant and unnecessary.. justin berfield has said that the cast changes of the 2 boys was due to 'scheduling conflicts', but the fact that troy gentile hasn't done anything significant since filming the pilot that would have 'conflicted' with the filming of the show combined with the fact that they went with SUCH a different 'type' for the role of brandon makes me suspect that the network most likely decided to go with an actor with more 'teen-idol' potential in an attempt to appeal to teenage girls (and gay teen boys) knowing that young teens are a highly prized demographic for advertisers..
