Remember that Tucson is pronounced 'two-sawn'

Not "tuck-sun".

Tyler Labine is kinda like the poor man's Jack Black.

reply

only an idiot would pronounce it "tuck-sun"

I pronounce things incorrectly when I'm bored. I am an idiot.

Well, a person if tongue tied could easily say TUH-SIN or TOO-SIN. I just moved to Seattle and they have some strange names. I still say Tulalip like it looks tool-a-lip. But I heard it is pronounced Too-lay-luh. I still do not know how to pronounce Pulleyup. so I say it how it looks.

The reason why I brought this up is that we should not judge how other people speak. Some people may not even be familiar with other cities. One person I knew never moved from Los Angeles county. When I saw the street Sepulveda--I said something stupid. But by living in LA for 10 years, I know to say "Seh-Pull--vah-duh" Not "say-pull-vay-duh." When I saw "Dunesquene" how am I supposed to know that is pronounced "Doo-Kane"? So in other words, be slow to judge. You COULD make fun of people because they cannot say a simple name of a town, but they could just as easily give you a name of a street or town that has a strange pronouncation and then call you an idiot. All people are ignorant. that is all good. If you knew how to say every town in every country and city, give yourself a gold star saying "I am a know it all with no friends." You might as well make fun of people who do not know how to pronounce Bordeaux (Bor-dough). But by calling people an idiot, yeah, you might get some satisfaction, but in the end, you could be the stupid one because you gain nothing and only alienate people more. Not impressive. Now if you are a clown, then you are an idiot because that is what you are hired to do. And being stupid is just hating correction.

Im pretty sure the LA street you are referring to is Duqesene in Culver City. I spelled it wrong too, but you did as well. I used to call La Cienega (LAH SIGN EGGAH) myself treheheh

It's the wild wild w-est.

It always cracks me up to listen to people in call centers pronounce it when I'm on the phone. And listening to the GPS try and pronounce the street names we have around here. She says Ajo like "A-Joe"
