Good thing David's dream didn't turn the movie into a "cop solves crimes following his dreams",
that would have been rubbish...
Also him wearing a girl's dress only happened once so that can also be ignored...:-)

It was his wife's dress that he had on because if you notice at the end of the dream it was his wife standing at the edge of the lake instead of the girl he was following and she was wearing the same dress he was!
