rip off

Rip off. Memories of murder mixed with the killing forbrydelsen. So much rip off it makes you wonder. Lawyers in germany get ready to be sued.

You do realize, though, the that novel by Jan Costin Wagner on which this movie is based and which it follows rather closely, was published in Germany in 2007, the same year as the first season of "Forbrydelsen" was broadcast in Denmark, right?

I think accusations of plagiarism should only be made after a very close inspection to avoid that lawyers in the US would have to get ready for a case of libel :-)

Unfortunately people make "rip off" posts like this using the most ridiculous connections. Usually its just opinion

I'm gonna take your word on this one as this film was suggested to me by a friend after I told him that I enjoyed 'Memories Of Murder'. Saying that, 'Memories' was based on a real life case and so I doubt you can accuse The Silence of ripping it off.

This genre is a long tradition in German cinema, starting with Fritz Lang's M back in the 1930s.
