What a waste of time.

Hugely disappointing, more plot holes than faulty colander. Unlikely scenario, a witness to rape and manslaughter(Not murder) keeping quiet? Touch DNA on the headphones surviving being thrown in a field? (Particularly with the technology available at the time) "Pia's" body was shown being dropped in deep water fully wrapped - which would have largely protected the rapist's DNA - yet the second body was found unwrapped at lakeside. A stranger calls at your door asking if the house next door is for sale and you invite him in? Nonsense. Detectives work in pairs for a reason, the officer would not continue alone. That material on a pc being so easily found? rubbish, it would be encrypted and hidden for sure. Volvo seatbelt catch not releasing? Balderdash, they should sue. The two-man theory dismissed out of hand? really? in the German Police Force? There's more but I'm bored now. And the pace, tedious. Of course you might enjoy it.

SPOILERS if anyone who hasn't watched it is reading my comment

1. He kept quiet because he was watching kiddie porn himself and the killer would most likely have implicated him too.

2. Second (2009 murder) body had no evidence of rape, killer probably wore gloves.

3. Ok fine, the woman inviting him seemed a bit odd considering that she lived a very private life.

4. From the detectives' point of view they didn't know they were going to question the actual murderer. Detectives always working in pairs might not always hold true.

5. He wanted to kill himself.

You completely missed the point on her letting Timo in. She said prior to that scene that she always wanted to see the killers face. She lets him in because she actually thinks it may be the killer, and because he was so awkward. Watch her again as she closes the door. Also how she takes off the gear she was wearing in the next scene. She is ready, not naïve. She doesn't have much to live for, to know who the killer is, get a confession, apology, or even get murdered seem to be worth it to her at this point. She has never been able to move on from the death of her daughter that none of the risks matter to her. She just wants to know who did it.
