henry maske

henry maske as max schmeling? seriously? is that confirmed?

saw a report on tv yesterday about the shooting in progress, and yes, sadly it is Henry Maske. For that gimmick alone Boll should be used as a punching bag.

Surprisingly Boll was not in the focus of the German media in the past despite his being labeled the worst director ever. But I think with this atrocity it will change because there is no way in hell this film is going to be anything but an unvoluntary laugh-fest.

uwe boll is not known to the german public at all, i would say. his movies are playing in theatres and i think (i should look that up, though), that "dungeon siege" actually did pretty well.

but none of my friends, even those who are into movies, really knew about this internet-phenomenon, boll has become, until i told them.

but i think you're right, this movie will definately be marketed as a big thing over here. even if this time he manages to direct a decent movie, casting maske seems like a huge mistake. i don't expect that guy to be able to act AT ALL. maybe it'll work subtitled (if you can't actually understand how he's saying the things he's saying), but just listneing to him, commenting on boxing on german TV is terrible experience.

by the way: i actually think uwe boll is a pretty clever and funny guy, he just happens to be a bad director. check out the Q&A podcast from "creative screenwriting magazine" he did for "postal". it's hilarious. (i'm sorry, i still don't know how to put a link on imdb :-)
