He has too. His music sucks to bad for him to make a living off of that. VH1 is his only source of income.
shareSurprisingly that's not true. He owns the record label/production company that puts out his "music" (which is why the trash he keeps creating is allowed to be put out). Since he's the CEO and isn't being backed by a major label almost all of the royalties and album sales profit is his. You're probably thinking "What Album Sales?" His albums WILL flop, but most artists get around 4% - 6% of profit anyway. Being an independent company Ray's probably getting 45% - 70% of sales. He'll probably sell 100,000 tops compared to another artist's 500,000 but he doesn't end up getting his pockets raped by execuctives.
Basically since him and his mommy are good business people he's allowed to have less talent then other "artists", and yet more money comes back to him.
His VH1 check + the 5mil from the sextape + CEO money = Wow
