Superintendent Ray Martin

Did anyone else think (or hope) that Superintendent Ray Martin (Oliver Dimsdale) would end up being arrested on Police corruption charges while he was giving the TV news interview near the end of the movie ? It feels like they missed a trick by not doing that and it would have made the end of the film just that little bit more satisfying.
