Here's Hoping

After the suckfest that was Northern Lights and the disappointment that was Midnight Bayou I don't have a *whole* lot of hope for High Noon..I'm already disappointed in the look of the characters because I don't understand why they couldn't pop the ten bucks for a few boxes of BOGO hair dye, but there's just the tiniest part of me that still holds out some hope that it'll be decent. Who's with me? LOL

I'm totally with you, lol. The best Nora book turned movie that i've seen so far is Carolina Moon. I'm hoping High Noon and Tribute will be better but I'm not holding my breath,LOL.

I know I have been afraid after I watched Montana Sky to watch anymore of the lifetime books to movies of Nora Roberts. I love her books and I really like this book so I also hope that they don't screw this one up. And I definately agree that the least they could have done is dye the actors hair red since they mention that an aweful lot in the book.

Yeah Montana Sky was terrible, lol. The movie that is. Yeah you would think that they could have done some temporary red dye or something...

And why did they change the beginning? The whole point of giving the jumper a beer was that it was extremely hot outside, but they are all wearing winter coats???

reply

I'm just finishing it. In my opinion, its much better than the other two. Even though she's not a redhead, I think Emilie deRavin made a good Phoebe.

reply

Well I'm a die hard Lost fan so I loved watching deRavin. This was ok, better than Midnight Bayou but to me it seemed very condensed. Like parts were missing.

It didn't suck as badly as I thought it would. I just wish she had red hair but considering how bad the other movies were, it was actually pretty good.

It WAS better than the other two, but just for fun I watched this one with someone who didn't read the book..and as I expected, I missed 10 minutes of the second hour explaining who those people were having dinner..LOL I really DO get that you can't jam an entire book into two hours, but come ON..you can't have Duncan's family NOT there, then there for 1 minute of screen time and then expect everyone to get why they're important.

So he was raised by a black family? Yeah, that came out of left field for someone who didn't read the books!

I am really enjoying this one, and the last two we such complete duds I almost didn't record this. Midnight Bayou was hands down one of the bottom ten movies I've ever seen, and I'm addicted to cheesy movies. Wonder what Nora has thought.
