Similarity to Olivier, Olivier (1992)?

I am just about to watch the Chameleon on Netflix, and actually noticed it because in their brief description - I thought perhaps this film was an update of Olivier, Olivier - but apparently it is not. However it seems that are quite a few similarities. Any comments?
