More Resto and less flipping

I would like to see more barn and garage finds that actually need some work and restoration.... and less of Wayne buying a car, throwing a coat of wax and some freshing up and then taking it to the auction. I don't mind that part, but I really want to see more about the cars and less about the auction.

Lately, it seems like all Wayne does is find a nice car. Polish it, fix a couple of small items and try and sell it for more than he bought it for.

I'm hoping tonight's episode with the Dino is good.

Argh. This week we get a true barn find, and Wayne doesn't even wash the dirt off it... takes it show and wins.

Do they actually DO much restoration at F40 motorsports?

You're probably talking about the Volvo wagon that Wayne bought for a couple hundred bucks. That was a goof for some joke car show that ran "against" Pebble Beach. I thought it was funny. But Wayne's business appears to be actually two businesses - F40 Motor Sports, and Continental Auto Body. Owning a working body shop for everyday fender benders is probably the real money maker for Wayne because it's steady income. F40's business seems to be divided up between long-term inventory for later or seasonal sale, customer restoration projects, sales consulting and brokerage, and quick flips that don't always seem to bring big profits but keeps the cash flowing. I think the episodes follow whatever is relavent to whatever Wayne's working on at any particular time that makes him money to stay in business. So sometimes it's the flips and others it's the big projects like the Ferrari Daytona Spyder that he arranged to have a customer buy for almost a million bucks - for a car that would be a beater in the real world. I liked the episode where he was trying to get the Buick Skylark ready for a show, and things kept breaking on it up to the very last minute. Probably one of the best episodes and maybe it shows the kinds of headaches that Wayne and his crew have to go through but are seldom seen on the show. I think what makes CCC work is that not every car is a big deal or makes Wayne money, and not every day goes as planned.

In regards to the Dino: "The Car has already been bought. He wants it red... you know Rosso Rubino. I want it blue. We'll see who wins."

Tough call, but if the buyer wants it red....?

The show should be renamed "Chasing Classic Cars Only To Flip Them At Auctions."
