Title misnomer? ***Spoiler***

The film is quite timely given the fact that so many people these days are facing financial ruin (mortgage foreclosures, losing their jobs, etc.) However, my friend and I left the theater wondering about the film's title. The second half of the film focuses almost entirely upon the surviving daughter, not upon the surviving wife. It should have been titled, "My Father's Daughter," or something like that. Still, it's a great film showing how suicide affects not just the victim, but those to whom the victim is connected to.

^Not sure what you are talking about. The father left behind THREE daughters and a son. "My Father's Daughter" would have made zero sense as a title.

I too wondered about the title Father of my children - implying that it is from the pov of the mother, but perhaps it's more metaphorical - children being wider than just(but including) his children, also including the films he produced...etc His legacy...?

I think it's just supposed to mean that, from the POV of the mother, that's all Grégoire is to her, as he's always working or on his cellphone.

There may be a 'cleverer' meaning, but I'll stick to 'simple'.
