How did you get into Hetalia?

So, no one has started a new little comment thingy in a while, so I thought I might as well. I was wondering, how did people first get into Hetalia? Like, I have a really weird way how I did. I got into it from Ouran High School Host Club, actually. I randomly read a crossover between the two, one where Switzerland and Liechtenstein visit Ouran, and it made me really interested in the fandom and such. I thought personified countries was like such a cool topic, and I was right. So, did other people have more normal ways of learning about it, or are all of yours kind of weird as well? I really want to know these things! So, if you get a chance, please comment if you feel like it.

I discovered Hetalia on DeviantArt by chance. I don't remember exactly how. I started watching Hetalia online and then I ordered the DVD box sets.

You mentioned how you got into Hetalia from Ouran High School Host Club. I actually got into Ouran from the previews on one of the Hetalia DVDs. At first, I thought that Ouran was a stupid anime for girls, but I decided to give it a chance and watched some episodes online. I found it really funny and I like how it makes fun of its own genre and it's not overly girly, even though it's targeted to a girl audience.

I absolutley adore Ouran, because it was my first anime I'd ever watched. Ouran will always have a special place in my heart, and it lead to me discovering so many other animes. Yeah, I could see how you would think Ouran would be too girly. It definitely looks like it would be a super shojo-y anime, but it actually has a good amount of humor but also a lot of sweet moments as well.

WatchMojo's top ten shows have mentioned it in numerous Anime countdowns lately and finally I just said I had to see this.

several people mentioned it but when someone started asking me questions about the history of my parents' country (i live in australia, history isn't actually a subject here and it's just australian history :/ ... for ten years of school... O.o *dies* ), i was fascinated how on earth somebody could know that stuff without listening to a three hour lecture from my folks >.<

and thus; Hetalia.

I have seen some promos here and there but I never really got into it. After watching it in Anime Club at school, I fell in love. It's a hilarious show and I couldn't but laugh at the rather racist jokes or to start quoting it with my friend. I also love how they personified the countries and just used some historic information, making it educational in a way.
