I love it too. It really took some serious balls for Joaquin & Casey to make this film.

It was an amazing thing, disturbingly real, funny in a very dark way, and I'm impressed by the dedication required to stay publicly in character for such an extended period.
I suppose the fact that people are still convinced it was a genuine documentary, and that the "hoax" story is just a cover up for the actor's failed musical career and temporary personal decline, says something about how true to life the film was.

Absolutely incredible. I believe Joaquin should have won the best actor Oscar and I've been saying so since it came out:-)

reply

Even if it were a possibility, sadly Hollywood probably felt "annoyed" by Joaquin's antics and therefore it wrecked his chances. Coupled with that, the film just didn't get enough exposure to warrant a nomination for him. Sad, I wish he did win an Oscar for it. He really did deserve one for Walk The Line I know that much.

I couldn't agree more. This movie is sooooooo good, brilliantly funny (my old SIG was a quote from this movie) and so unbelievably underrated. No one could out do the acting in this.
Definite props to JP!!!!!!

Lets build a snowman!

The fact that people are debating if this was real or not just proves how great of an acto he is.

Joaquin was brilliant! I've watched it over and over and still get somethinthing new from it!

reply

Yes, yes, yes. True sarcasm on screen, hilarious! It didn't become obvious to me until the Letterman scene, but once you understand its not real its friggin hilarious! Genius!
