Excellent DVD

I got the DVD and was really happy with the film. I wasn't a fan of ELR, but I love documentaries and see most of them.

First off, I found Rosenthal a real treasure and an able host through Moscow. I started really seeing his dilemma, and feeling for him. He's a pleasure to watch and you root for him 100%. His wisdom, ultimately, is that one must "do the show you want to do, because in the end, they'll cancel you anyway."

The Russians he meets are very intriguing. Eldar, the driver, is nothing short of lovable, although I needed a bit more investigation of his story in the end. Phil could probably have gotten to the truth. I will say that it was a real crime what we did in Afghanistan (during the 80s), and I hope the US Government eventually apologizes to the Russian people.

It's a shame about Evgeny Miller, but the final cast seems competent. Happily there are full episodes as special features (with subtitles). All in all, a great documentary and I hope it's recognized more.
