Phil Rosenthal comes across as a douche

Phil Rosenthal was the ugly American refusing to learn and understand the Russian culture. I was disgusted when Phil and Eldar were walking through the war museum and Eldar starts talking about how its his favorite place because its part of his country's history and he was in the military. And Phil is like "why did you bring me here, this place sucks." Then Eldar makes up some bull $h!t about liking seashells because he realizes at that point that Phil is more into the Little Mermaid than All Quiet on the Western Front. That's the reason Eldar past him onto another driver. He found out Phil wasn't a real man. I'll never watch another episode of Raymond because of Phil.

I did get that a bit, but I really understood the frustration that Phil was feeling. They called him because they wanted his show, but they didn't want what made it popular to the American audience (while I watch the occasional episode, I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan). The Russian crew all seemed just as set in their ways as Phil was. The one writer just seemed like an a$$, not listening to any notes Phil had. The costume designer was a b*tch, and was translated as saying "How do I make him understand" when she wasn't grasping basic human traits. I guess that if I had had a popular television program that another country wanted and I was treated the way he had been, I would have acted the same way he had.
