Such a wonderful show....

I have enjoyed it so much - especially seeing all the actors who usually speak with English or American accents, speaking as Africans. Botswana looks beautiful, I have been noting with interest the advertisements for vacations there, I wonder if this series had anything to do with that.

Another thing which impressed me is the politeness with which the people deal with each other, much as it used to be in the UK, and now very much isn't!!!

Love Precious's clothes, BTW - she always looks beautiful. Am hoping for a second series ASAP.

George... don't do that!

I agree mmattagirl! It is a wonderful show. I looked forward to it each week. Jill Scott is a beautiful lady and her wardrobe on this show is just great. Love, love, love her clothes!!

Please let there be a Season 2!

I also agree with you mmattagirl! The "Boy With the African Heart" episode is outstanding and I particularly love CCH Pounder as the long suffering, grief-stricken American mother. I was in tears by the end of the show. I am honored to witness genuine warmth, self-respect and politeness right here in America from African immigrants, many who are becoming American citizens. Bravo to HBO because The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is a trailblazing artistic jewel that I hope Ms. Jill Scott and others in this fabulous cast will continue to nurture. Blessings!

Don't sweat the small stuff

This is a great show. i was surprised to find it done by HBO. Jill Scott is an amazing actress. She captures the politeness/respect of African culture amazingly. I just love this show and hope for another. Great to see some great South African Actors getting a chance in this as well, like Desmond Dube. What a great actor. Love his character!

If you have taken me seriously, I have already won!

Amazingly enough, I only found out about this little gem just last week. I am about 20 minutes into the 1st episode and I love it. It's probably best that I am just going to watch all the episodes back to back and consider it a miniseries. Maybe, it won't be as painful getting all sucked in and connected to the show just to have it abrubtly pulled away from me
