I saw this series with my great aunt in 2010. We both loved it, although my aunt couldn't remember some of it because she was a bit demented. The book, not as much. But I think since they did this first season right, they could fix up the second book alright and make another fantastic show. Please get out of development hell

shareI didn't have HBO until recently. I was a big fan of the books but I had never seen the show. I just inhaled the whole thing.
I thought it was beautiful but I couldn't believe it only lasted one season. I scratch my head over the preference for violent shows instead of ones like this that are rich in character.
Is there a second season coming for real? I would love that too.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure....but I think the director/producer passed away...and that's why the show was discontinued. It would be so fantastic if they could find someone who could take up where the series left off...and get Jill Scott to reprise her role!
