Depp is a bad, bad actor. He was awful in this. Looks more like Ray Liotta that Bulger and Liotta should have played the part anyway. The rest of the cast was fantastic. Could have been an 8/10 but Depp drops it 5/10.

Supposedly, Bulger really liked the way Depp looked. I thought Depp's performance was quite good, but was very distracted by the amount of makeup. It just made him look very bizarre and freakish to me. Bulger in real life was much more normal looking. I think Liotta could've pulled it all off rather nicely.
I was locked up in prison with Jimmie... He would invite me to his cell to show me pictures that fans sent him of Johnny Depp playing him in the movie. You should see the smile on that 86 now 87 year old mans Face. You would smile with him.. even knowing how many lives he was responsible for ending. Hanging with Jim, you forget he is a cold blooded Killer. I did. He is more like your retired High school history teacher Grandpa. Yep..
shareDid I forget to mention that he is in a wheelchair, and can barely walk. He just sent me a letter last week. He says he stays in his cell more now-a-days. They make a lot of noise in the units, screaming and shouting at sports and rap videos. Plus people always want an interview. He gets tired of that. The 87 year old man can take but so much. He is in the handicap cell on the first floor (K2 Cell 132). They are the biggest and roomiest cells in the prison. The unit managers(and his white boy goons)usually keep him in the cell by himself. There is a large Ice machine just in front of his cell door. It makes some noise when working and they slam it shut when they get ice. That's annoying to him obviously.

However, I do get a very small amount of comfort from knowing that the scum bulger might be suffering in even the smallest way.
If you guys want me to send a phone pic of his last letter with autographed post cards to me from Whitey, I can do that... but by now, with all the details in my post, with the sense I know you have, you should have put 2 and 2 together by now. And he is not suffering... his family and fans make sure he goes to the prison commissary every week to get all the Romin Noodles with refried been`s ,and cheese crackers he likes. And the cool aid fruit punch he drinks. He does have nightmares of all the people he killed, they haunt him at night.. he just get 3 maybe 4 hours a sleep a day. They are waiting for him in the after life. I can only speak on the "Jim" I meet in FCC Coleman USP 2, Coleman, FL 33521 unit K-2 Cell 132.

I just loved the fact that he didn't do his jack sparrow/willy wonka stick like hes been doing for the better part of 10 years ( some exceptions of course) and I might be mistaking but is this the first time he has played a straight up bad guy?
