If you really want to understand the main idea of the movie, you should read a Naomi Klein book "The Shock Doctrine". I had read the book and then saw a movie and it was clear for me, that people, who are not familiar with the book, might understand the movie in different way and therefore, to make different conclusions. The movie itself is not enough to see the full view of Naomi Klein's ideas.
no matter how much crap u put on it. its still propaganda. you need to read other books w/ factual history. get a picture of the WHOLE situation. not pick a few things OUT OF CONTEXT and state it as fact to support your BIAS.

A:Nice name,must be a charming person.
B:Recite your quote while looking at your reflection in a mirror.
"It's got a Death Curse!" "Doomed...you're all doomed!"
As an economist, I find the The Shock Doctrine to be an utterly dishonest book, and the misrepresentation of Milton Friedman to be disgusting.
For the less academically inclined, it might be easy to be impressed by the huge bibliography, but the fact of the matter is that Klein simply has used it to cover up her lack of actual insight. Such a work would never be taken seriously in academia.
Her "proposition" [that neo-liberal capitalism feeds on natural disasters, war and terror to establish its dominance] is a thesis that could be worth studying, but it should be done with intellectual honesty.
Anybody interested in Klein's methodology should read "The Klein Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Polemics" by Johan Norberg
Oh big surprise! The CATO institute, which is controlled by Big Business bullies and whose members are sociopaths doesn't approve of the message in the Shock Doctrine. I'm SHOCKED! :D
