Top 100 Things I Learned from "If I Stay"

A beautifully photographed film of teenagers on the verge of adulthood,
anyone would love this film. I'm a jaded old lady now, but I remember all the
things you young folks are faced with, at that age.

1. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by accepting her body image, needs glasses, braces and has bad acne. OOPS!! Strike that -- she's a perfect size 4, flawless complexion, has full, luxurious hair. Sorry. I'll just keep going.

2. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by trouble in her family, at home. OOPS!! Strike that -- her parents are still in love, love she and her brother, and encourage family trips to go see the grandparents; they are actually the center of a large, warm group of friends!...Sorry. I'll just keep going.

3. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by the standard need to fit in and be popular, or possibly being the foil of rough gangs, crime or bullies in her school. OOPS!! Strike that -- she's one of those studious talented stars that are more comfortable losing themselves in practice, all alone; except for a trustworthy best friend who isn't jealous or competitive and just wants the best for her. Sorry. I'll just keep going.

4. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by conflicts between her afterschool practice, her part-time job and her chores at home... OOPS!! Strike that -- her parents both have jobs they like, bought her her own cello, pay for private lessons, and even though her mom works, she only asks her to dry some dishes when she needs to talk. Sorry. I'll just keep going.

5. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by an unrequited crush; or by never having a boy like her or ask her to a dance... OOPS!! Strike that -- one of the hottest, nicest, most talented (and faithful) guys just spied her from afar and went out of his way to invite her somewhere SHE would like to go (she isn't the school dance type, anyway)... Sorry. I'll just keep going.

6. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by sucking at what she loves, playing the cello. OOPS!! Strike that -- she's the only high-schooler invited to play with the collegiate audience, and got an audition for Julliard !!...Sorry. I'll just keep going.

7. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because
she and her boyfriend could end up having their dreams come true in different cities, and after all, its 1842 and if she doesn't get married now, she'll be an old maid and be a laughingstock. OOPS!! Strike that -- its 2014 or so, and there's no problem with jet travel and skype and the money to travel, and she's only 17 and has her whole life in front of her, and doesn't need to marry the first guy she meets... Sorry. I'll just keep going.

8. High school student Mia Hall is somber and depressed -- probably because she's tortured by losing her family in a terrible accident, and everyone who loves her is afraid when she wakes and finds out, she won't want to live. OOPS!! Strike that -- her ghost has been running around checking on everyone and realized that, in a coma, she looks the happiest she has in years...Sorry. I'll just keep going..... there's got to be an answer here, somewhere...

I wish I invented the idea, but its a common theme in imdb boards, one person starts it and then other people add to it!

She's not somber and depressed. She's an introvert. That completely ruins your whole premise here.....
